Nalateswari Temple
Nalateswari
Nalhati is an ancient town on the bank of the river Brahmani. The popularly known Parvati Pahar is located here and is considered to be the most sacred place to perform spiritual practices by the Tantra practitioners. It is the abode of the vermilion coated golden tongued Goddess Kali. The larynx of Sati is worshipped here as the Great Kali. The place is guarded by Yogish, the beloved consort of Sati. It is the unique Sati Pitha in Birbhum where “Bhog” is offered first to Lord Govinda even before offering it to the Goddess. Thus the thoughts of Shakta and Vaishanaba mutually coexist here.
